Grace period

A "grace period" for a visa is an additional period granted by Dubai immigration after you have exhausted all the days the visa you used to enter Dubai allows you. Even though your visa has expired during this period, you can stay legally without any negative implications. However, you must exit the country or extend your stay within the grace period.

The amount of days granted as a grace period differs depending on the type of visa you used to enter Dubai. For example, if you obtained a 30 days on arrival visa to enter Dubai, you are granted a 10 days grace period. On the other hand, if you obtained a 60 days single entry visa or a 30 or 60 days Multiple Entry visa to enter Dubai, there is no grace period after the visa expires.

Whereas a grace period may offer certain leniency to visa holders after the visa has expired, it is still illegal to stay in the country longer than permitted. Doing so might have serious repercussions, such as heavy fines.

Extending Prepaid Dubai visa

1. Extending a current prepaid visa for 30 days
The single entry 30-day visa can be extended for an extra 30+30 days period by paying a fee. The 60-day single entry visa can also be extended twice for 30 + 30 days by paying an extra fee. However, the Multiple entry visas cannot be extended. If you wish to extend your current visa, get in touch with Arabiers via WhatsApp, or you can stop by our office to submit an application for this extension.

2. Airport to Airport
The other option for extending your stay in Dubai after your visa expires is through an airport-to-airport visa change. You will fly from Dubai to the closest Middle East country and return to Dubai after a new visa has been processed. Contact Arabiers for this service through WhatsApp or visit our offices.
