Steps to travel to Saudi Arabia & Kuwait via Dubai

  1. 1. Book a flight ticket to the preferred airport in Saudi Arabia or Kuwait using a Dubai stopover flight.
  2. 2. Apply for a Dubai Visa. A short term single entry visa permitting a 40 day stay is ideal.
  3. 3. Do a PCR test in your home country within the last 72 hours before your departure.
  4. 4. Get the negative COVID19 PCR test certificate and get a COVID19 insurance ( a must to travel to Dubai).
  5. 5. Book a hotel in Dubai
  6. 6. Fill the health declaration form and take hardcopy prints of your travel documents.
  7. 7. Arrive in Dubai and stay for 14 days.
  8. 8. Passengers who have stayed in Dubai for 14 days are exempted from regulations like home quarantine for 3 days and proceed for COVID‑19 PCR test after 48 hours from arrival & If the COVID‑19 PCR test is not done after arrival, then the home quarantine period will extend to 7 days.

If you don't want to make the most of your visit and do some sightseeing during your Dubai stopover, you can leave your bags at our safe storage in Dubai international airport and collect them when you are boarding your flight out of Dubai. This is an ideal option for travelers on short stopovers or those who have to check out of their hotel long before your scheduled flight. You can find the Left luggage storage at Arrivals in Emirates Terminal 3.

The charges for storing your bags for up to 12 hours are:
  • AED 35 _ Standard bag with maximum dimension of 21 by 24 by 11 inches.
  • AED 40_ Valuables
  • AED 40_ Large bag with dimensions more than 21 by 24 by 11 inches.

PCR test & covid regulations

Passengers who are eligible for complimentary COVID19 PCR test on arrival in Dubai.

All travelers flying to Dubai from the GCC countries listed below are not required to take a COVID19 PCR test before departing. They can choose to do it upon arrival at Dubai International airport. Passengers arriving by road via the Hatta border are exempted from this and must take a PCR test within 96 hours before departure.

The test on arrival in Dubai also applies to passengers travelling from

  • UK
  • Germany

If the traveler prefers to do a PCR test before flying, they are free to take it 96 hours before departure in their country of origin.

  • If a PCR test is taken before departure, an official printed certificate in English or Arabic should be shown. Digital and SMS certificates are disregarded.
  • If you are having a layover in Dubai airport from the countries mentioned above, you don't have to show a COVID19 PCR test certificate unless it is compulsory by your country of origin or final destination.
  • Passengers utilizing the Dubai connect service and booked hotels outside Dubai airport need to present an attested negative COVID19 PCR test certificate which has to be taken within 96 hours before departure.

Emirates flights are planned to ensure an ideal connection time in Dubai. however if there are no suitable connection times and have to wait longer for your flight, you can be eligible for Emirates' Dubai Connect Service.

If you need to wait at the airport, you will be given access to the Dubai connect Lounge or else you will be provided with visa to enter UAE, free hotel and transfers. Things you should do in Dubai

  • Check your prescriptions before bringing any medications (like those containing Codeine) as they are not allowed in UAE. They also have a zero tolerance towards drugs and being in possession of these can get you on the wrong side of the law. Research before you go and save yourself from some unexpected trouble.
  • Say no to Public Display of Affection as many people have gotten arrested for kissing in public. Married couples holding hands is tolerated but all forms of affection are best left for when inside your hotel room.
  • Although women aren't expected to cover head to toe, they should dress modestly. Shopping malls have certain dress codes. Men are only allowed to go shirtless in the beach and women should Don a headscarf when visiting religious attractions.
  • If you are travelling during Ramadan then there are quite a few regulations to keep in mind. You can do your research, but to say it short, eating, drinking or smoking in public during the day is prohibited.
  • Islam encourages respect so treat people with respect and you will experience the warmth of Emirati hospitality and their cheery grins.

Things you shouldn't do in Dubai

  • Do not get drunk in public. It is illegal for Muslims to consume alcohol. Non-muslims can only purchase alcohol in licensed venues(hotels, bars,etc.) However, it's best not to overdrink as any form of unruly behaviour while drunk is regarded as an offense.
  • Do not photograph people, especially women without asking their permission first.
  • Foul language is regarded as an offense. Numerous travelers have been arrested for using foul language in the presence of undercover police officers.
  • Regardless of your opinion, it's best not to disrespect the religion with your words as blasphemy results in severe punishment.
  • Cross dressing is illegal and so is showcasing homosexuality.
  • Don't shake hands or greet anyone with your left hand and neither should you be eating with it. It is disrespectful of the culture as left hand is used for personal hygiene.
