These are two separate countries, so if you would like to travel to another region in the Middle East while on a tour of the United Arab Emirates, you have to get a visa for that specific country.  Therefore even if you are a UAE visit visa holder, you cannot just go to Saudi without checking their entry requirements.

If you hold a type of visa for any city in the United Arab Emirates and are considering traveling to Saudi Arabia, these are some points you need to be aware of.  Keep reading to get helpful insight as this article will shed light on the requirements for people who want to travel to this great kingdom hassle-free.

Which Saudi Visa to apply for?

The type of visit visa to apply for if you want to see Saudi Arabia, depends on your nationality. At Arabiers, our services include assisting travel enthusiasts in obtaining visas for various countries so we have divided the visa type into different groups to help you understand which category you belong to.

1. Group A - On arrival Saudi Visa

Who can apply?

If you are a permanent resident of the EU, UK, or US, you belong to this category. In this case congratulations, as no pre-arrangements are required. The other countries with visa on arrival are the neighboring nations of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and UAE.

The lucky travellers who fall into this group can also get a 12 month tourist visa in Saudi Arabia without needing to apply beforehand (total stay up to 90 days). So all you have to do is sit back, relax and get ready for an amazing trip without the dreaded paperwork!

2. Group B - Saudi eVisa

Who can apply?

This is a list of countries whose nationals can get a visit visa online.

North America: Bahamas, Barbados, Canada, Grenada, Panama, Saint Kitts and Nevis

Europe: Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria,Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Netherlands, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine

Asia: Azerbaijan, Brunei, China (including Hong Kong and Macau), Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Maldives, Singapore, South Korea, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, Uzbekistan

Africa:  Mauritius, Seychelles, South Africa

Oceania: Australia, New Zealand

For people who are part of these 66 eligible countries, the Saudi Arabia eVisa offers a convenient way to get entry with a very simple online procedure. Travellers who want to stay longer and explore the sights of this nation can obtain a one-year visa with multiple entries where they are allowed to stay for up to 90 days.

With the exception of the Hajj, this type of visa covers a range of tourism-related endeavours which can be events, excursions, family visits, and Umrah. This visa is for those seeking cultural immersion and exploring natural wonders, not activities like studying or work, as separate permits are issued that and visit visas cannot be used.

3. Group C - Saudi Tourist Visa

Who can apply?

People from the countries who do not fall under the 2 categories mentioned above.

If you belong to this group and currently have a permit to stay in the UAE, you must obtain your Saudi Arabia visa by applying through the nearest Saudi Arabian embassy.

Documents Needed to Apply for Saudi Visa

The paperwork required can vary depending on the visa type, so here is a list of the documents necessary to ensure a smooth application:

1. Group A

Since this is an on-arrival visa, the only document you need will be your passport to stamp on once you arrive at any entry point in the country.

2. Group B

The application procedure for the eVisa is entirely online.  You just need to submit copies of the following documents:

Scanned copy of your Passport
A photo taken on a white background.

3. Group C

As this category requires you to apply through the embassy you need to have the following documents:

  • Proof of accommodation.
  • Return ticket.
  • Proof of employment.
  • Financial solvency/Bank statement.
  • Flight itinerary.
  • Personal information, including home address.

How to Apply for the Saudi Visa?

If you belong to group A, you can get visa-on-arrival at any Saudi airport. You only need to apply if you want a multiple entry visa or plan on staying for a long term visit.

If you belong to group B or C, apply through Arabiers for a seamless and straightforward process. Since a seperate visa is needed to enter Saudi although they are visit visa holders in UAE, one of the easiest ways is to apply through a reputable visa agent especially if you belong to group C.

The application process is relatively easier for citizens of the group B category as the visa can be applied online and less documentation is needed. However if you are part of the group that needs to visit the Saudi embassy to set your application in motion, our Arabiers team is ready to assist you on your visa journey.

Here's a step-by-step guide to help you navigate through the application process:

Start by informing the Arabiers team of the visa type and whether you will be performing Umrah during your trip to Saudi Arabia.

You should submit the documents to the team according to the group you belong to and make sure to contact us beforehand for any questions you might have before starting this process.

Let Arabiers know which airport you prefer to land in for a smooth entry into the country.

The details of the dates of your travel and how long you plan to stay should be given to us so we can facilitate the application processing timeline. Even if you belong to group A, feel free to contact us if you are applying for an extension or multiple entry visa.

Simply make the payment through a double-secured payment link to initiate the process.

Fill out the visa and insurance application forms online with ease.

Once everything has been processed, all that's left to do is booking your flight and accommodation.

Arabiers will double-check the activation of your insurance for added peace of mind.

For you to have an added peace of mind and a problem free trip, Arabiers will also double check the activation of your insurance

Now that you have your Saudi eVisa, you are all set to embark on a tour through the stunning landscapes, rich history, culture, and friendly hospitality this kingdom has to offer.

Saudi Visa validity Period

The Saudi visit visa (group C) and eVisa (group B) are both valid for one year and allow multiple entries into the country. However for group A nationals, it depends on the type of on arrival visa, as a single entry is limited to only 3 months, while with a multiple entry visa type the expiration date is up to one year.

As a visit visa holder in UAE, traveling to the land of the two holy mosques, usually means you need a valid visa so make sure to familiarize yourself with the various types and their respective requirements. Most importantly, don't forget to start the application process in advance to avoid last minute issues if any complications arise.

You can have a memorable trip as you get to experience the rich history and friendly people of Saudi Arabia, only if you follow the rules and prepare accordingly.
