Itinerary Explained

Here’s how Arabiers has organised the 11 days:

Arrive Urgench → Khiva

Explore Ichan Kala, including Kunya Ark, Pahlavan Mahmud mausoleum, Kalta Minor, Tash-Khovli Palace and Juma Mosque.

Khiva → Bukhara

Travel through the Kyzylkum desert to Bukhara.

Visit the Ismail Samani mausoleum, Chashma Ayub, Bolo Hauz, Ark citadel, Poi Kalon, trading domes and Lyabi-Hauz, followed by Sitorai-Mohi-Hosa, the Faizulla Khodjaev house and Chor Bakr.

Bukhara → Nurata → Yurt camp

Stop at the Gijduvan ceramics workshop, see Nurata’s fortress and sacred-fish spring, then enjoy dinner and traditional songs at the desert camp.

Yurt → Aydarkul → Samarkand

Take a short camel ride and visit Aydarkul lake for a swim when weather allows, then continue to Samarkand.

See Registan Square, Gur-e-Amir, Konigil Meros, Shah-i-Zinda, Imam Al-Bukhari, Ulugbek’s observatory, Bibi-Khanym Mosque and Siab Bazaar. Take a day trip to Shakhrisabz for Ak-Saray, Kok-Gumbaz and Dorut Tilovat.

Travel to Tashkent and visit Hast Imam, Chorsu Bazaar, Tashkent City Park and the capital’s principal landmarks.

Breakfast and transfer to Tashkent International Airport.

Visa: Uzbekistan is visa-free for 30 days for eligible UAE passport holders and UAE residents, provided the residence visa and passport meet the required validity.
  • Best time: mid-March to mid-June and mid-September to mid-November.
  • Route: starts at Urgench airport and ends at Tashkent airport.
