Itinerary Explained

Here’s how Arabiers has organised the 14 days:

Arrive Tashkent

Visit the Hast Imam complex, Chorsu Bazaar and the Museum of Applied Art.

Tashkent → Kokand → Fergana

Travel by train to Kokand for Khudoyar Khan’s palace and historic madrasahs, continue to the pottery workshops of Rishtan and then Fergana.

Fergana → Margilan → Tashkent

Visit the Yodgorlik silk factory in Margilan and see traditional ikat weaving before returning to Tashkent.

Tashkent → Urgench → Khiva

Take a domestic flight to Urgench and transfer to Khiva.

Khiva — Ichan Kala

Tour the Kunya Ark, Pahlavan Mahmud mausoleum, Kalta Minor, Tash-Khovli Palace, Ak Mosque, Anusha Khan baths, Muhammad Rahim Khan madrasah and Juma Mosque.

Khiva → Bukhara

Cross the Kyzylkum desert to Bukhara.

Bukhara → Nurata → Yurt camp

Visit a Gijduvan ceramics workshop, Nurata’s fortress and sacred-fish spring, then continue to the desert yurt camp for dinner and traditional songs.

Yurt camp → Aydarkul → Samarkand

Take a short camel ride, stop at Aydarkul Lake for a swim when weather permits, then continue to Samarkand.

Samarkand

Explore Registan Square, Gur-e-Amir, Konigil Meros, Shah-i-Zinda, Imam Al-Bukhari, Ulugbek’s observatory, Bibi-Khanym Mosque and Siab Bazaar.

Samarkand → Shakhrisabz → Samarkand

Visit the Ak-Saray ruins, Kok-Gumbaz Friday mosque and Dorut Tilovat memorial complex.

Samarkand → Tashkent

Return to Tashkent for a final evening in the capital.

Breakfast and transfer to the airport.

Visa: Uzbekistan is visa-free for 30 days for UAE passport holders and qualifying UAE residents, provided the residence visa is valid for at least 90 days on entry and the passport for at least 180 days.

  • Where it starts: the tour begins inside Uzbekistan. International flights are not included.
