UK Visa and ETA for Dubai Residents
UAE nationals no longer need a standard UK visitor visa. Since February 2024, UAE passport holders travel on a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) — a quick online application costing approximately AED 75, usually approved within minutes. Non-UAE nationals living in Dubai must apply for a Standard Visitor Visa through VFS Global in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

The best time to visit the UK from Dubai is between April and September when the weather is warmest and daylight is longest. The UK experiences four distinct seasons so the best time will depend on the region you are visiting.
If you want to avoid summer crowds, visit between April–May or September–October when prices are lower and the countryside is equally beautiful.
Spring
Mild 14–18°C. English gardens in bloom. Cotswolds at their most beautiful. Fewer crowds than summer. Ideal for countryside packages.
Summer
Peak season. Long daylight (up to 18 hrs). Warm 18–24°C. Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August. Harry Potter Studio busy — book ahead.
Autumn
Golden countryside. Fewer tourists. Lake District especially stunning. Temperatures 10–15°C. Excellent value for hotels.
Winter
London Christmas markets (Nov–Jan) are magical. Lowest prices. No queues. Cold 4–10°C — but cosy pubs and festive atmosphere.
