A private desert dinner in Abu Dhabi is a dinner served just for your party out in the dunes, paired with a private desert safari. You are picked up privately, do a private safari (dune bashing, camel farm, sandboarding and sunset), then sit down to a private BBQ dinner at your own majlis setting under the stars. With Arabiers you choose the setting: a Sunset Dune Majlis or a Royal Red Carpet Majlis.
It is different from the standard evening safari, where dinner is a buffet shared with a large group at a camp. Here the vehicle, the guide, the dinner and the setup are yours alone, which is why it is priced per couple rather than per person. If you would rather share the buffet and the atmosphere of a big camp, that option exists too, and we point you to it below.

Both options include the same private safari, the same itinerary and the same private BBQ dinner. The only difference is how your majlis is set up.

Dinner is a private BBQ served at your majlis, all halal, cooked fresh and brought to your setting rather than queued at a buffet. A typical spread includes grilled meats, hot dishes, salads and mezze, fresh bread and a dessert, with Arabic coffee, dates, water and soft drinks. Vegetarian options are always available, and the menu is seasonal, so not every item appears every day. Tell us any dietary needs when you book and we will arrange them. This is a proper desert safari and BBQ dinner in Abu Dhabi, served the private way.

Both include the private safari and dinner, with VAT. If you would rather share a buffet dinner at the group camp, that is available from 189 AED per person on our Evening Desert Safari.

The Royal Red Carpet Majlis is a grander setup with a red carpet, a decorated majlis and a more formal feel, from 2190 AED per couple.
Yes. If you prefer a livelier, lower-priced night, you can share a BBQ buffet dinner at the group camp on our Evening Desert Safari, from 189 AED per person, which also includes live shows. This desert dinner page is for the private, dinner-focused experience.

Yes. A private desert dinner is one of the most popular ways to mark a honeymoon, anniversary, proposal or birthday in Abu Dhabi. Because the setting is private, we can add touches like flowers, a cake or decoration on request, and the Royal Red Carpet Majlis is a favourite for proposals.
Private pickup is around 2:30 PM and you are back by about 9:30 PM, so roughly 7 hours. Dinner is served at your majlis from about 6:00 PM as the sun sets, followed by Arabic coffee and stargazing.
In the Abu Dhabi desert, on the Al Khatim or Al Khazna dunes, where your private majlis is set up away from the crowds. Pickup is from anywhere in Abu Dhabi, including Yas Island, Saadiyat and the cruise port, with Dubai pickup on request.
