Morocco Visit Visa from Dubai
The Morocco visa from Dubai has one feature that makes it unusually simple: the e-visa is based on your UAE residence, not your nationality. A standard e-visa costs 770 MAD, about AED 282, and takes around three business days. Emirati nationals do not need a visa at all.

Do you need a Morocco visa if you live in Dubai?
If you hold an Emirati passport, no. Everyone else needs the e-visa, and the good news is your UAE residence is what qualifies you for it. Morocco opened its e-visa to UAE residents of every nationality, so you do not need a particular passport, you need a valid Emirates ID.
| Your situation | What you need |
|---|---|
| Emirati (UAE national) | No visa, visa-free up to 90 days |
| Any foreign-passport UAE resident | Morocco e-visa, applied online |
This guide is for the second group. It is one of the simplest outbound visas from Dubai, because eligibility follows your residence rather than your passport.
The residence rule: why your nationality does not decide it
Morocco's e-visa for UAE residents is open to all foreign nationals holding a UAE residence permit. This is the point most people miss. Whether you are on an Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Egyptian or other passport, the route is the same, and it is the e-visa. What you need is a valid Emirates ID, not a passport from a particular country. That is why a question like "do Indians need a Morocco visa from Dubai" has the same answer as for everyone else: yes, the e-visa, and you can apply online.
Who can apply, exactly
Three conditions decide your eligibility for the online e-visa.
- A valid Emirates ID, that is, you are a UAE resident
- Your UAE residence permit valid for more than 180 days from the day you apply
- Your passport valid for more than 90 days from the day you apply
If your residence is close to expiry, renew it first, because the 180-day rule is checked at application. If you meet all three, you apply yourself online, no embassy visit.
Standard or express: the two e-visa options
Standard e-visa
770 MAD, about AED 282. Decided in around three business days. The right choice when you are planning ahead.
Express e-visa
1,100 MAD, about AED 402. Decided in around one business day. For when your trip is close and you need speed.
Both are single entry, valid for 180 days from issue, and allow a stay of up to 30 days. The only difference is the fee and the speed, so pick express only if you genuinely need the faster decision.
What the e-visa lets you do
The e-visa is a tourist permission for a single visit of up to 30 days. You can use it to:
- Explore the imperial cities, Marrakech, Fez, Rabat and Meknes
- Visit Chefchaouen, the blue town in the Rif mountains
- See the coast and desert, from Essaouira to the dunes near Merzouga
- Attend short business meetings, though a business trip may need the business e-visa
It is a visitor permission, not a work or residence permit. Longer stays or work need a different visa arranged with the Moroccan authorities.
How to apply for the Morocco e-visa from Dubai
- Check that your Emirates ID is valid, your residence has more than 180 days left, and your passport more than 90.
- Go to the official portal, acces-maroc.ma, and create your application.
- Choose the standard or express e-visa, and complete the form.
- Upload your passport copy, UAE residence visa copy and a passport photo, then pay by card.
- Receive the approved e-visa by email, print it, and carry it with your passport.
Apply from the official portal only. The e-visa is issued electronically, so there is no embassy appointment and no sticker collection.
What documents do you need?
The Morocco e-visa needs very little: proof of residence, a valid passport, and a photo. You will need:
- A copy of your UAE residence visa, valid for more than 180 days
- A copy of your passport, valid for more than 90 days
- A recent passport-sized photograph
Compared with a UK, US or Schengen application, this is a light file, which is part of what makes Morocco an easy long-weekend or holiday choice from the UAE.
How much does a Morocco visa cost from Dubai?
A standard e-visa costs 770 MAD, about AED 282, and an express e-visa 1,100 MAD, about AED 402. You pay in Moroccan dirhams by card, so the UAE dirham figure moves slightly with the exchange rate.
| Option | Fee (MAD) | About (AED) | Processing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard e-visa | 770 MAD | AED 282 | About 3 business days |
| Express e-visa | 1,100 MAD | AED 402 | About 1 business day |
AED amounts are approximate, at about 1 MAD to 0.37 AED. Confirm the current fee on the official portal before you apply.
How long does it take, and how long can you stay?
The standard e-visa takes about three business days and the express about one, and the stay is up to 30 days. The e-visa is valid for 180 days from issue, so you can apply well ahead, but you must enter and complete your visit within that window, and it is single entry, so it covers one trip.
Can I visit Morocco on a Schengen or other visa?
People often ask whether a valid Schengen, US or UK visa lets them skip the Morocco visa. For a UAE resident, the straightforward answer is that you do not need to rely on that, because the e-visa is open to you through your UAE residence. The online form may ask whether you hold such a visa, but your residence-based e-visa is the clean, reliable route.
Entry exemptions tied to holding another country's visa change, and they vary by nationality, so do not book on the assumption that another visa covers you. Apply for the Morocco e-visa and travel with certainty.
Morocco visa from Dubai by nationality
For UAE residents, the route is the same whatever your passport: the residence-based e-visa. Indian, Pakistani, Filipino and other foreign-passport residents all apply the same way at acces-maroc.ma. If you are travelling elsewhere too, a UAE residence opens easy entry to several countries, which you can see on our visa guide hub.
When it is simple, and when it is not
If your Emirates ID and passport meet the validity rules, the Morocco e-visa is simple, and you can apply yourself. It is worth getting help when:
- your residence is close to the 180-day line and you are not sure you qualify
- you are travelling as a family or group and want one point of contact
- your trip is last minute and you need the express route done right
- you need a business e-visa rather than a tourist one
