The Musandam fjords from the UAE side. Emirates ID sufficient. No AED 85 border fee.
Dibba sits on the Fujairah coast at the point where the UAE meets the Musandam peninsula. The dhow boards here and sails straight into the mountain fjords without crossing the Tibat border into Oman. For UAE residents whose passport is with their PRO, or for anyone who wants to visit the fjords without the border paperwork, this is the practical route in. Dolphins, snorkelling and lunch are all on the programme.

The Hajar mountains drop into the sea on both the Khasab side and the Dibba side of Musandam. The fjord inlets on the Dibba side are narrower than Khor Sham but equally sheer. The dolphins are the same resident spinner pod. The difference is that you do not need to stop at the Tibat border, pay AED 85 per passport, or carry your passport at all if you are a UAE resident with your Emirates ID.
UAE residents can join with Emirates ID. No AED 85 Oman entry fee applies.
The same resident pod appears at the Dibba-side fjord entrance. Sightings on around 95 in every 100 cruises.
Fresh food and soft drinks served on the return cruise, roughly 13:00.
The cliffs on the Dibba side of Musandam reach 200 to 400 metres above the water. The inlets are narrower than Khor Sham, which changes how the mountain walls look from the deck.
The Dibba cruise is the right option when passports are not available, when you want a simpler day without a border stop, or when the group includes people on visa types where crossing into Oman adds complication. UAE residents can present their Emirates ID at Dibba; no Oman visa or border fee is needed because the cruise stays on the UAE side of the border.
If you do have your passport and want to see Khor Sham, Telegraph Island and the deeper sections of the Musandam fjords, the Khasab full day dhow cruise covers more ground. Both tours include dolphins and snorkelling. The Khasab route is longer and goes further into the fjord. Travellers from Abu Dhabi can book the Dibba day tour from Abu Dhabi with hotel and transfers included.

The Dibba cruise stays on the UAE side of Musandam: no border crossing, no passport needed for UAE residents, shorter total drive. The Khasab cruise crosses into Oman, reaches Khor Sham and Telegraph Island, and covers more of the fjord. Both include dolphins and snorkelling. The Khasab experience is more extensive; the Dibba experience is simpler to organise.
