Quad Bike Abu Dhabi FAQs
How much is a quad bike in Abu Dhabi?
A self-drive quad bike with Arabiers starts at AED 314 per person for a 10 minute ride on the shared sunset safari. Private tours run longer rides of 30 or 60 minutes, priced for the whole group. You can see the live price for your choices in the calculator on this page.
Can I rent a quad bike in Abu Dhabi and drive it myself?
Yes, you drive it yourself. Quad bike rental in Abu Dhabi with us means a 250cc quad ridden inside a guided desert safari, because the Al Khatim dunes are reached by 4x4 and a guide rides with you for safety. You choose the ride length, get a briefing and a helmet, then drive on a marked dune route.
How long is the quad bike ride?
On the shared sunset safari the quad ride is 10 minutes. On the private morning tour you can choose 10, 30 or 60 minutes, and on the private evening and dinner tours 30 or 60 minutes.
What engine size are the quad bikes?
Our quads are 250cc automatic machines, easy for first-time riders and strong enough for the dunes. One rider per quad.
Do I need a licence to ride a quad bike?
No licence and no experience are needed. A guide gives a full safety briefing and rides alongside you. Riders must be adults; children ride with the family on the 4x4 and the other desert activities.
Is a helmet provided?
Yes. A helmet is provided and worn for the whole quad ride, along with a safety briefing before you start.
What is the difference between the shared and private quad tours?
The shared sunset tour puts you in a group 4x4 with a quick 10 minute quad, which is the cheapest way to try it. The private tours give your group its own 4x4 and guide and a longer quad ride of 30 or 60 minutes, in the morning, evening or with a private dinner.
Where does the quad biking take place?
In the Al Khatim desert, about 45 to 60 minutes from Abu Dhabi city on the Al Ain road. Hotel pickup and drop off is included.
What is included?
Your quad ride, the 4x4 desert drive, dune bashing, sandboarding, a camel farm stop, hotel pickup and drop off, a helmet and the safety briefing. The evening tour adds a BBQ buffet dinner and live shows, and the dinner tour adds a private dinner setup.
Is it suitable for families?
Yes. Adults ride the quads, and the whole family shares the 4x4, the camel farm, sandboarding and, in the evening, the camp with dinner and shows. The morning tour is the easier choice with young children.
What is the best time of year for quad biking in Abu Dhabi?
October to March, when the desert is cool and both morning and evening tours run. December and January are the busiest weeks, so book early. In summer the rides start early in the morning.
How do I book?
Pick your options in the calculator on this page and send the summary to us on WhatsApp. We confirm your slot and the pickup details the same day.
How much does a quad bike cost per hour in Abu Dhabi?
A one hour quad ride is the longest we offer and is available on all three private tours, morning, evening and dinner. The price depends on the tour and your group size, so choose 1 hour in the calculator on this page to see the exact figure for your group. In a group of six the one hour morning ride works out around AED 545 per person.
What is the best time of day for quad biking in Abu Dhabi?
Morning is cool and quiet, which suits families and summer visitors, and you are back by lunch. Evening gives you golden light, the sunset and dinner at the camp. Both run from October to March; in summer we ride early morning only.
Is quad biking in Abu Dhabi legal, and will I get a fine?
Yes, it is legal when you ride with a licensed operator on a permitted desert route, which is exactly what we do in Al Khatim. Fines come from riding an unregistered quad on public roads or in restricted areas. With us you ride on a marked desert route with a guide, so there is nothing to worry about.
Is it good for beginners, and is there an instructor?
Yes. Every rider gets a full safety briefing and a guide who rides alongside the whole time, which works like a private instructor for first-timers. The quads are 250cc automatics, so there are no gears to learn. Most of our riders have never been on a quad before.
Can I book a quad bike tour for a group of four?
Yes. Four riders share one private 4x4, which makes the price per person lower than it is for a couple. Choose four guests in the calculator to see the price. Larger groups up to six share one 4x4, and bigger parties take a second vehicle as one booking.
Do I pay a deposit, or can I reserve without paying immediately?
You can reserve without paying straight away. Send your choices on WhatsApp, we hold the slot and confirm the pickup, and payment is settled on confirmation or on the day. No upfront online payment is required to reserve.
Is a quad bike the same as an ATV?
Yes. A quad bike and an ATV, or all-terrain vehicle, are the same thing. Ours are 250cc ATVs, one rider each, ridden self-drive on the dunes with a guide alongside.
Can I buy or rent a quad bike to take away in Abu Dhabi?
No. We run guided quad bike tours in the desert, not sales or self-rental of bikes to take away. The quad comes with a 4x4 transfer, a guide and a helmet, inside a desert safari, which is the safe and legal way to ride the open dunes.
Where are the quad biking routes and trails in Abu Dhabi?
We ride on marked routes in the Al Khatim desert, about 45 to 60 minutes from Abu Dhabi city on the Al Ain road. Your guide picks the line each time for the sand and the light, rather than following a fixed public trail, which keeps every ride safe and scenic.
