Tourist visaAfter the Landing Endorsement is issued, the 30-day visit visa is granted at the Sri Lanka port of entry on arrival.
Arrival stageNo. Taiwanese applicants are not required to submit a police clearance report for this sponsor-route visit visa.
No PCCYes. Taiwanese passport holders need a visa, and they cannot use the standard online ETA, they must apply through a Sri Lankan sponsor at the Department of Immigration & Emigration head office.
Sri Lanka’s official ETA portal places Taiwan (listed as “Taiwan-China”), alongside Kosovo, in a separate category. Instead of self-applying online, a Sri Lankan sponsor submits the application at the Immigration head office in Battaramulla. The department then issues a Landing Endorsement, and the traveller is granted a 30-day Visit Visa (Tourist) at the port of entry in Sri Lanka.
A Sri Lankan sponsor files at the Immigration head office, a Landing Endorsement is issued, and you receive a 30-day tourist visa at the airport.
The process runs in a clear sequence: your Sri Lankan sponsor submits the application and supporting documents at the Department of Immigration & Emigration head office; the department issues a Landing Endorsement, valid for 30 days from its date of issue; you travel to Sri Lanka and are granted a 30-day Visit Visa (Tourist) at the port of entry; and you then attend the Visa Division at the head office within 30 days of arrival to regularise the visa, as stated on the endorsement. A confirmed return or onward ticket is required.
Taiwan is not on Sri Lanka’s free-ETA list, so a fee applies under the sponsor route.
Because the application is handled through a sponsor at the Immigration head office rather than the online portal, fees are confirmed at the time of application. Arabiers confirms the exact amount with you before any payment.
