Financial Requirements: The AED 3,000 Rule
Egyptian nationals are occasionally asked by UAE immigration to demonstrate financial sufficiency on arrival. This is commonly referred to as the AED 3,000 rule: an informal reference to the amount immigration officers may ask you to show as available funds.
⚠ What the AED 3,000 rule means for Egyptians
UAE immigration may ask Egyptian travellers to show that they have sufficient funds to cover their stay. The AED 3,000 figure (approximately EGP 42,510) is not a formal written visa condition: it is a discretionary check applied by immigration officers at the border. Having the following in place significantly reduces the likelihood of being questioned: a confirmed return flight ticket, a hotel booking for the full stay, a reasonable amount of accessible funds (cash, debit card or credit card), and a clear purpose of visit.
This is an arrival check applied by UAE immigration, not a visa application requirement. It does not affect your visa application: your visa can be issued before travel regardless. The check happens at the immigration counter on arrival in Dubai.

Types of UAE Visa for Egyptians
Four main visa types are available to Egyptian passport holders through Arabiers:
30-day single entry: for a short one-trip visit to Dubai or the UAE
60-day single entry: the most commonly booked visa for Egyptian travellers; suits longer stays, family visits and first-time visitors who want flexibility
30-day multiple entry: allows you to leave the UAE and return within the visa validity period; suits frequent travellers and business visitors
Business visit: covered by the standard UAE tourist visa for meetings, conferences and short business trips; a separate business visa category is not required for most short-stay business purposes
The UAE tourist visa covers all seven emirates: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain: all on a single visa.
