The UAE government introduced an advanced visa system in October 2022 and since then, there have been a number of changes that are worth noting.
There was an introduction of a 60 days’ visa by ICP in October 3rd 2022. This visa is meant for the holidaymaker to have a longer stay in UAE of up to 60 days.
The other change that was introduced in the UAE was standardizing of the overstaying fine to 50 AED per day. The overstaying fines starts to accrue once you have exhausted the prepaid visa days and the grace period and you have not exited the country.
However, if you overstay in the country as a result of flight delay or cancellation, you are not considered to have overstayed and therefore you will not be fined.
The Federal Authority for Identification, citizenship, Custom and Port Security (ICP) recently announced an increase in the cost of all services by AED. The new regulation cuts across for all the services offered by ICP including the issuance of Emirates IDs, visit visas and residency visas.
