An evening built around the buggy
The tour follows the rhythm of an Abu Dhabi evening safari, but with the buggy ride slotted in first, while you are fresh and the light is at its best. We collect you from your hotel in a private 4x4 and drive out to the Al Khatim desert, about 45 to 60 minutes from the city. After a safety briefing you take the Polaris out for thirty minutes, then we run the dunes in the 4x4, stop at the camel farm, and let you sandboard as the sun drops.
From there the evening turns social. At the desert camp you sit down to a BBQ buffet dinner, watch the tanoura, belly dance and fire shows, try shisha in the designated area, and finish with stargazing before the drive back. The Polaris ride, in detail
We keep the buggy choice simple. There is one ride length, thirty minutes, and two machines: a 2-seater 800cc Polaris for couples, and a 4-seater 1000cc for groups of up to four. That is why a couple pays a little more per person than a group, the couple has a whole buggy to themselves. Your guide runs a short engine and tyre check, walks you through the controls, and rides alongside so you are never out there alone.
One thing we will not dress up: the buggy itself is not insured. That is standard across UAE buggy operators, so you sign a liability waiver and drive within your limits and the guide's instructions. Your private 4x4 and the desert camp are covered as normal. If you want personal cover, add adventure insurance through your own travel provider before the day.

Yes. After a safety briefing you drive the Polaris yourself for about 30 minutes on a marked dune route, with a guide close by. There is a 2-seater 800cc buggy for couples and a 4-seater 1000cc buggy for groups.
We say it plainly: the buggy itself is not insured, which is standard across UAE buggy operators, so you sign a liability waiver and follow the guide's rules. The private 4x4 and the desert camp are covered. You can add personal adventure cover through your own travel provider if you want it.
The standard evening safari is a shared 4x4 with dinner and shows from 189 AED. This tour adds a private 4x4 and a 30 minute self-drive Polaris buggy, so you drive the dunes yourself rather than only riding as a passenger.
Hotel pickup is between 2:00 and 3:00 PM and you are back at your hotel by about 9:30 PM, so the tour runs roughly six hours including transfers.
