Winter sun without the flight time trade

Abu Dhabi in January runs 24 degrees, seven hours from London and under a two hour time difference. This package positions it against the Canaries and the Caribbean, where the capital wins on weather reliability, hotels and things worth leaving the pool for.

Two experiences a week, not two a day

A fortnight fails when it is packed like a city break. The escape schedules four experiences across fourteen days, the mosque, the Louvre, a desert evening and a dhow dinner, and defends every other day for the beach.

Long stay rates, honestly passed on

Thirteen nights at rack rate would be absurd. We contract long stay rates with resort partners and your quote shows the nightly basis plainly, which is what makes a premium fortnight price like this possible.

The Experience

A fortnight where the pool lounger wins most days, by design

The structure is a beach holiday first: a Saadiyat or Corniche resort base with thirteen nights on a long stay basis, breakfast daily, and the sea at the door. Onto that, four experiences land roughly twice a week, each chosen because it justifies leaving the lounger: the Grand Mosque in morning light, the Louvre's dome, a desert sunset with dinner, and a dhow cruise along the skyline. Nothing else is scheduled, and that is the product.

Guests who want more touring bolt on days a la carte, the Al Ain oasis and Yas Island being the usual additions. For a fortnight of the same standard with the touring turned up, the Luxury Retreat is the answer; for the full emirate at touring pace, the Grand Tour. The Abu Dhabi tour packages hub holds the rest.

Why the escape is built thin

Winter sun travellers book a fortnight to decompress, and itineraries kill decompression. So the escape holds exactly four fixtures, placed in week one and week two with gaps around each, all with private transfers and none before mid morning except the mosque. The rest is the resort: beach service, pools, spa, and the Corniche or Saadiyat's restaurants in the evenings.

The honest comparison for this package is not our other packages; it is the destinations it competes with for the same fortnight, and the table treats it that way.

A fortnight, lightly punctuated

Week one

Days 1 to 3

Arrive, then nothing

Private transfer, resort check-in on a long stay basis, and three unscheduled days to find the holiday rhythm.

Day 4

The Grand Mosque, then lunch

The one early fixture: the mosque at morning light with a guide, lunch after, and the afternoon back on the beach.

Day 6

Dhow dinner cruise

An evening cruise along the Corniche skyline with dinner aboard, the week's second and final fixture.

Week two

Day 9

The Louvre, unhurried

Timed entry with the afternoon left open on Saadiyat, so the museum is a morning, not a march.

Day 11

Desert sunset and dinner

An evening drive into the dunes for sunset, a camp dinner and stars, back to the resort by late evening.

Days 12 to 13

The last lazy days

Nothing scheduled: the spa, the beach, a final Corniche dinner.

Day 14

Departure

Late checkout where the resort allows, and a private transfer to your flight.

Who this package suits

The escape is a beach fortnight with a capital city attached, deliberately. It is the wrong shape if:

  • You want to tour daily, which is the Grand Tour's territory, not the escape's
  • Your fortnight is a family school holiday, where the 10 day Family Holiday Package fits better
  • You want G-Class transfers and multiple luxury properties, which is the Luxury Retreat

Frequently asked questions

How much does a two week Abu Dhabi winter holiday cost?

From 11,950 AED per person on twin sharing for 13 nights at a beach resort on a contracted long stay rate, with four curated experiences, daily breakfast and all private transfers. The quote shows the nightly basis openly, and flights and visas sit outside the price.

What is the weather really like in an Abu Dhabi winter?

December to March runs 24 to 28 degrees by day with reliable sunshine and cool, pleasant evenings, which is precisely why the package only operates October to April. It is the finest stretch of the Gulf year, and the sea stays warm enough to swim throughout.

Is two weeks too long for Abu Dhabi?

Not for this format, because the fortnight is a beach holiday, not a touring circuit. Four experiences justify the destination; the other ten days are the resort, the sea and the restaurants. Travellers who want daily touring should take the 10 day Grand Tour instead, and we say so.

Can we split the stay between two hotels?

Yes, a popular variation runs a week on Saadiyat and a week on the Corniche, quoted with both long stay rates and a mid stay transfer. It adds variety at a small cost to the settled single base rhythm.

Are the four experiences fixed?

The four shown are the default because they earn their place, but any can be swapped: Qasr Al Watan for the dhow, a Yas day for the desert. Your quote reflects your four, and add-on days beyond them are priced a la carte.

Does the package run in summer?

No, and that is deliberate. June to September heat changes the character of a beach fortnight, so the escape sells October to April only. For summer family trips, the 10 day Family Holiday Package is engineered for the season.
