The afternoon starts with dune bashing and sand skiing on Tal Moreeb, the UAE's tallest dune, and a stop at a camel farm to see the region's black camels.
After sunset, the tour heads to the festival grounds for the competitions, concerts and cultural activities that run through the night.
This tour only runs during the Liwa International Festival's official dates. Outside that window, see our year-round Liwa desert safari tours instead.
Demand for a Liwa desert safari rises sharply around the Liwa International Festival, and this tour is built for exactly that window. After pickup from Abu Dhabi, the drive to Liwa takes around two hours. Once there, you stop at a camel farm to see the region's black camels before heading onto the biggest dunes for dune bashing and sand skiing from the top, with time for photographs as the sun sets over Tal Moreeb.
From there, the tour heads to the festival area itself. Expect motorsport competitions including car drag races, freestyle drifts and classic car displays, alongside camel and horse races, live concerts, and cultural activities such as henna, basket weaving and traditional Emirati cooking demonstrations, building toward the main stage concert and the festival's night time light and drone shows. If your travel dates fall outside the festival window, Arabiers still runs year-round safaris in the Liwa desert covering the same dunes and camel farm stop.

The next Liwa International Festival runs from 11 December 2026 to 2 January 2027 in the Al Dhafra region, around Tal Moreeb, the UAE's tallest dune. General admission to the festival grounds is free; some areas and events, including Liwa Village and headline motorsport shows, require separate tickets that are not part of this tour's price.
This tour books the desert half of the day so you are not driving yourself out to Liwa on top of a long festival evening. Pickup is from Abu Dhabi between 2.30 and 3.30 pm, followed by around two hours on the road, a camel farm stop, dune bashing and sand skiing on the tallest dunes, and sunset photographs, before heading to the festival grounds for the evening programme. Drop-off back in Abu Dhabi is between 2.30 and 3 am, once the festival's night time entertainment has wound down.
The exact festival schedule is only confirmed by the organisers close to each date, so Arabiers sends the precise timing 2 to 3 days before your tour. Traffic and crowd levels can cause delays on both ends of the day, so allow flexibility around these windows.
