Destinations I’ve experienced

Dubai is where I live and work, which means I plan other people's holidays in a city I cross every day. I know which attractions deliver at which hours and where the day quietly slips away that everyday familiarity goes into every Dubai plan we sell.

On the Ground with Seyed

At World Travel Market, London

ExCeL London, United Kingdom

WTM is where a year of partnerships is built in three days. I meet the tourism boards, hoteliers and destination partners behind the itineraries we sell, and what is agreed here shapes what our guests experience in Dubai, Colombo and Delhi the following season.

A traveller first, in Oxford

University Church of St Mary the Virgin, Oxford, UK

Travel is my profession and also my habit. Exploring the UK on my own time keeps me on the other side of the desk as a guest working out tickets, timings and cold November evenings and that perspective comes back into every trip Arabiers plans.

Kayaking the Eastern Mangroves

Eastern Mangrove National Park, Abu Dhabi

I paddled this route myself before it went anywhere near our Abu Dhabi pages how long the loop really takes, where the channels stay calm, and what first-timers find difficult. If we describe an activity on our site, it is because one of us has actually done it.

Quad biking the RAK dunes

Ras Al Khaimah desert, UAE

Desert activities read the same on every website. Riding the dunes myself is how I learned what to tell guests honestly — what the safety briefing covers, how the machines handle on soft sand, and who this experience actually suits. That detail goes straight into how we present desert tours.

An evening camel ride

Sahara Desert Resort, Dubai

Camel rides are on almost every guest's list, so I take them myself the mounting, the pace, and how long stays comfortable for a first-timer. It is a short experience, but knowing it first-hand changes how we set guests' expectations before they book.

Seyed Shifaam standing on a rock ledge above turquoise pools inside Wadi Shab canyon, Oman

Hiking into Wadi Shab

Wadi Shab, Tiwi, Oman

Wadi Shab asks more of guests than the photographs suggest a boat crossing, a rocky walk in full sun, then a swim through the canyon to reach the cave. Doing the whole route myself is how we brief guests honestly on footwear, fitness and timing instead of letting the pictures oversell it.

Snorkelling the Daymaniyat Islands

Daymaniyat Islands, Oman

Conditions, visibility and the boat operators themselves are things you can only judge in the water. Snorkelling the Daymaniyat reserve with our local partners is how we decide which operators we trust with our guests and what to tell first-time snorkellers before they go.

On a photoshoot at Sigiriya

Sigiriya, Sri Lanka

The photographs on our Sri Lanka pages come from our own shoots like this one our Colombo team, our guides and the Lion Rock behind us, not a stock library. Producing our own imagery means every picture a guest sees is a place and a team we can stand behind.

Seyed Shifaam at street level during the Kandy Esala Perahera with traditional dancers and fire performers behind him

In the crowd at the Esala Perahera

Kandy, Sri Lanka

The Kandy Esala Perahera cannot be written about from a desk. Standing at street level as the drummers and fire dancers pass is how I learned the practical details guests ask for where to sit, when to arrive, and how long an evening of the procession really runs.

Scouting in Kashmir

Thajiwas Park, Sonamarg, Jammu and Kashmir

Walking a destination before we package it is the standard across our three offices. In Kashmir that meant the things photographs don't show road conditions between valleys, what the season does to access, and where the quiet stops are that guests remember most.
