Dubai Visa from Oman 2026: Cost, Requirements & How to Apply

Update - 08, June, 2026

Omani nationals do not need a visa and receive a visa on arrival in Dubai. Expatriate residents of Oman (holders of other nationalities) must obtain a prepaid UAE tourist visa before travel — available as 30-day or 60-day, single or multiple entry. You apply with a passport valid for six months and one photo; Arabiers processes most visas within 24–48 hours, with indicative prices from AED 489 (OMR 52).

Do you need a visa to travel from Oman to Dubai?

Although Omani citizens do not need a visa to visit Dubai, foreign nationals living in Oman must follow the procedure set out below to obtain a Dubai visit visa.

Foreign nationals resident in Oman need a prepaid UAE visa before they travel. Omani citizens, by contrast, are issued a visa on arrival in Dubai. So if you are an expatriate living in Oman and planning to travel to Dubai, you must first secure a prepaid visa before flying.

This guide explains the Dubai visa from Oman in full — the visa options available, the documents you need, the application process, prices, processing times and the rules on grace periods, extensions and overstaying.

A single-entry prepaid Dubai visa is available for 30 days or 60 days. Prepaid Dubai tourist visas carry no grace period once they expire, so plan your exit, extension or status change before the expiry date.

Grace period for a Dubai visa from Oman

Tourist and visit visas in the UAE carry no grace period. The former 10-day buffer for tourist visas has been removed, so once your visa expires you must either leave the country or extend your stay.

If you remain in the UAE after expiry without extending or exiting, an overstay fine applies for every day you stay — see the 2026 overstay fines below.

Dubai visa extension for visitors from Oman

Dubai Visa for Oman Citizen Extension

You do not need to worry if your visa is nearing expiry while you are in Dubai. The UAE visa system allows you to extend your Dubai visa twice, with each extension adding 30 days — up to 60 additional days in total.

An extension fee applies each time you extend; our team will confirm the current fee when you apply. If your visa expires and you neither extend nor exit, a daily overstay fine of AED 50 applies until you regularise your status or leave.

Renewal options for a Dubai visa from Oman

If you are living in or visiting Dubai, you can renew your visa before it expires. There are a few options available, including the airport-to-airport visa change and an in-country status change. Our team is available to help — see our UAE visa renewal options.

Option What It Involves
In-country Visa Change Renew without leaving the UAE, with a change of status.
Airport-to-Airport Visa Change A short exit-and-return procedure to issue a new visa.
New 30 / 60-Day Tourist Visa Apply for a fresh tourist visa for a continued stay.

Overstay fines for a Dubai visa (2026)

Overstaying Fines for Dubai Visa for oman

As of 11 February 2026, the UAE applies a single, unified overstay fine of AED 50 per day to all visa types, including tourist and visit visas. This flat rate replaced the previous system, where different emirates charged different amounts and Dubai applied a higher first-day surcharge.

  • The fine begins the day after your visa expires — there is no grace period on tourist visas.
  • Fines are recorded automatically in the ICP and GDRFA immigration systems and flagged at smart-gate exits.
  • They can be settled via the ICP app, GDRFA Dubai services or UAE Pass — ideally at least 48 hours before departure.
  • If your overstay requires an exit permit (out-pass), a one-time fee of roughly AED 200–300 may also apply.
Avoid the fine entirely. Extending before expiry is almost always cheaper than overstaying. Contact our team early and we will arrange your extension or status change.

Frequently asked questions

No. Omani nationals receive a visa on arrival in Dubai. Expatriate residents of Oman holding other nationalities must apply for a prepaid UAE tourist visa — either single or multiple entry, valid 30 or 60 days — before they travel.

Expatriate residents of Oman can apply online or use our service. Message the Arabiers team on WhatsApp, send a photo of your passport and your photograph, and we process and deliver your visa within 24 to 48 hours.

Indicative pricing ranges from about AED 489 (OMR 52) for a 30-day single-entry visa to about AED 1,190 (OMR 125) for a 60-day multiple-entry visa. The exact fee depends on the visa type and is confirmed at the time of application.

Common reasons include inaccurate or incomplete application details, a damaged passport or passport copy, and spelling errors that do not match passport details. Submitting clear, accurate documents helps avoid delays or rejection.

Permanent relocation requires a UAE residence visa rather than a tourist visa. Before you begin, have your degree, marriage certificate and children's birth certificates attested by both the Oman foreign ministry and the UAE authorities, which simplifies obtaining a residence or family visa.

Not on a tourist visa. You can only work in Dubai with a residence visa sponsored by an employer or company that has hired you. Ask your prospective employer to arrange a sponsored work visa.
